Car insurance companies around the UK are delighted at the recent efforts regarding measures to encourage safer driving. The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has put forward a new training scheme called Pass Plus. The training given here is for newly qualified drivers to build up on their already basic driving skills. Once a person has taken a driving test, the inevitable lack of experience affects their confidence and of course their car insurance premium. The Pass Plus aims to change that.
The scheme has to be taken anytime within 12 months of passing their original driving test and includes 6 specific elements that are focused on. These include: town driving, all weather driving, out of town driving, night driving, driving on dual carriageways and motorway driving. Each learner is assessed on which elements need to be most focused on and the scheme is then tailored to them. All training sessions are given by a highly skilled teacher.
As stated earlier, a lot of car insurance companies recognize the great benefits the pass plus has on a drivers driving skills. This can very well lead huge savings on car insurance premiums to pass certificate holders. These savings can range a great deal and it's up to the discretion of the car insurance company what they decide to offer. But on the whole you can usually expect quite a sizeable saving on your car insurance premium.
